Oneironaut

Oneironaut is the sound of deep psychedelic electronic music filtered through sleeping ears. Rhythms never repeat the same pattern twice. Melodies, almost subliminal, fade in and dissolve away. Repeated listening yields different sonic experiences everytime.

Working with generative "fractal-music" software and dynamic real-time audio environments, the aim of my music is to achieve a dreamlike, hallucinogenic flow that is always recognizable yet always changing. A strong love of intelligent dance music, minimalism, abstract house, and deep soulful grooves, coupled with a passion for mind-expanding ambient soundscapes, and psychedelic music of all forms come together to influence the creation of a unique new sound in electronic music. Live performances at university art shows utilized audio environments to create constantly evolving rhythms and sound textures.

I have been making electronic music with synthesizers and computers for over ten years. In 2001, my senior year of college at Syracuse University, I began actively composing again after a three-year hiatus. This resulted in the production of a series of EP-length CDR releases of original compositions as well as several DJ mix CDRs, which I distributed locally and also included in an application to Mills College for their MFA program in Electronic Music & Media Production. I was accepted to Mills and moved to Oakland, CA at the beginning of 2003. I focused on The Use Of Sound For Control & Healing for my thesis, but continued composing and performing original pieces as well as DJ mixes in my spare time.
